By accessing or using KnowMyRights.ca (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Platform. The Platform is operated by 17695977 Canada Corp.

2. Not Legal Advice

The Platform provides general legal information about Canadian laws and regulations. This information is educational in nature and is NOT legal advice. No lawyer-client relationship is created between you and the Platform, its operators, or its contributors by your use of the Platform. The information provided may not reflect the most current legal developments and may not apply to your specific circumstances.

3. No Guarantee of Outcomes

The Platform makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or applicability of any information provided. Legal outcomes depend on specific facts, jurisdiction, and applicable law. The Platform does not guarantee any particular result from actions taken based on information found here.

4. AI Features Disclaimer

The Platform offers AI-powered chat features using Anthropic’s Claude API. AI responses are generated based on training data and may contain inaccuracies. AI responses do not constitute legal advice. AI responses should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional legal counsel. The AI is instructed to provide informational language only and to cite relevant Canadian statutes where applicable. Despite these safeguards, errors and omissions may occur.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Platform for any unlawful purpose, attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform or its systems, scrape, copy, or reproduce content without authorization, use the AI chat feature to generate content for commercial legal services, or misrepresent information obtained from the Platform as professional legal advice.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of 17695977 Canada Corp. and is protected under the Canadian Copyright Act and international copyright treaties. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or modification of this content is prohibited. The DMCA and Canadian Copyright Act provisions apply.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 17695977 Canada Corp. and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform or reliance on any information provided, including but not limited to legal outcomes, financial losses, or emotional distress.

8. Payment Terms

Paid features are processed through Stripe in Canadian dollars (CAD). One-time consultations are non-refundable once AI messages have been used. Monthly subscriptions may be cancelled at any time through your account settings, with access continuing until the end of the billing period. Donations are non-refundable.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

10. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
